From 1 July 2026, Emeraldsand Platforms Group (ESP) will be headed by its new managing director, Nangula Nelulu Uaandja. However, she will join the board of directors on 1 February 2026, succeeding Albe Botha, who has led the company for the last 13 years. The Emeraldsand Platforms Group comprises over 40 companies from various sectors of the economy, including media, financial services, printing and logistics, marketing and technology.
Uaandja brings over 20 years of leadership experience to the company and was previously Managing Director of the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB). She also served as a managing partner at Price Waterhouse Cooper (PwC). Her appointment marks a strategic development for the Emeraldsand Platforms Group and will take it to become a regional player in the fields of media, finance, technology, data, printing and logistics. Tourism, agriculture and social investment will remain at the heart of the group's objectives.
Botha will remain a member of the board of directors and will focus on project management and strategic implementation of ESP objectives. Emeraldsand is also involved in nine new projects worth over 100 million NS. The expansion of Creative Africa is an important aspect for the group. Building a large and talented team to ensure the implementation of these projects is crucial to the success and future growth of the group. Creative Africa is set to be the key to job creation nationwide, with these projects expected to create over 10,000 jobs in various sectors over the next ten years.
